Portrait of a Dignitary, (18th century) Wang Zhaoji (1701-?)Life-size portrait on silk of a dignitary, slightly turned aside, the left arm supporting a sceptre, the right hand stroking his beard and moustache, wearing an official's cap and a red robe with dragon, cloud and pearl motifs picked out in gold. It is well possible that this is a portrait of an idealised, historical official such as Mi Fu, the great Song cultural hero. ref.#4433 Literature: Yu Jianhua et al :.
