Bronze Censer (17th - 18th century) A fine, well cast and large oblong Censer, decorated around the sides with mythical animals and dragons among waves. The lid cast in openwork with more dragons. The base has an apocryphal Xuande seal mark ref.4916 Literature: For a very similar censer see: Mowry, China's Renaissance in Bronze.
